Kebyar Duduk – The Androgynous Dance

Have you ever seen a traditional dance performed by men? Like the Kecak dance, a dance show you can enjoy if you go to Uluwatu. But now we’re not going to talk about the Kecak dance, we will inform you about the Kebyar Duduk dance. This dance was created and was first performed in 1925 by I Mario, a Balinese dance maestro. One of the characteristics of the Kebyar Duduk dance is this dance is performed by a male dancer, with Balinese dancers’ typical makeup and a complete dance costume. The dance was beautifully danced by him. Look at the snippets from the marvellous dance in the latest Bali Go Live video. What do you think about it? Isn’t it awesome? If it is, then give your comments section below!
