Taman Ujung Water Palace is a beautiful natural sanctuary located in Karangasem, Bali.

Karangasem is around two hours drive from both Kuta and Ubud. The back end of the drive is absolutely stunning, with the view of green rice paddies and the towering mountains.

The water palace was built by the old King (Raja) of Karangasem. The area has three large ponds that are connected by bridges that you can walk across. The structures are the combination of European and Balinese architecture. The park is quite big, covering 10 hectares of land. We highly recommend you to spend few hours to really get to explore. There is also a temple called Pura Manikan within the park that you can visit. If you would like to stay overnight, there are a few options to the northwest.

If you are looking for multiple activities in the area, keep reading. Tirta Gangga Water Palace is just 20 minutes away and is stunning as well. It was built by the same king and has a similar layout.

Pura Pasar Agung is a stunning temple way up in the mountains that’ll make you feel like you’re in a different world. Blue Lagoon Beach is just south and can be a great place to relax and do some snorkeling.

Pandangbai Harbour is located to the south as well. If you are looking to go to another island, this is one of the most common places to leave from. From here you can find many speed boats to Gili, Nusa Penida, and Lombok.
